Los Angeles Workshop | 22 september 2018

In this workshop we’ll spend the day together sketching and painting vibrant Los Angeles. I will lead you through my process of telling a compelling story with a painting.

We will begin the day at 10am for coffee and introductions. I’ll share my personal theory on color, light, perspective, composition, and how to convey a mood with a painting.  We will do some simple warm-up exercises, before heading outside to sketch this diverse city. We will work in watercolor sketchbooks or loose sheets, and the media will be pen and ink and watercolor. Lunch will be picnic style, after which we will move nearby to a second location. We’ll spend the afternoon applying what we’ve learned to create a piece to be proud of. Group size is limited, so there will be plenty of time for one-on-one instruction. After sharing our work and final words, our day will end at 5pm.

Materials will not be provided. I will email a complete list upon registration.

Level

This workshop is suitable for all levels. We all have something to learn, and I look forward to working with each of you. 

Price

The price of the workshop is $120/person.
Price includes lunch.

Not included: travel expenses, accommodation in Los Angeles, art materials.
